Who Are We?
iCare was established by UKIM in 2016 with an aim to provide financial and practical assistance to those in difficulty and special need here in the United Kingdom. UKIM was founded in 1962 to cater for the needs of the growing Muslim community arriving in the UK and to convey the vision and message of Islam. Since then it has grown to have over 40 mosques across the country, 35 supplementary schools with around 5,000 students, a successfully running global relief department and now having established iCare, it will be supporting those in need regardless of colour, religion or background in the UK.
Guided by the teachings of Islam, iCare endeavours to tackle poverty and its causes by developing practical and long term solutions that will bring people in the UK out of poverty. We will also work in partnership with the wider community, local authorities, local charities and others to promote social cohesion, outreach and a more harmonious society through the delivery of relief work.
We seek to provide a wide ranging, caring and compassionate service to those undergoing hardship in the UK. iCare’s strategy is to build stronger, more responsible and caring communities through its charitable projects, ultimately contributing to a better Britain.
Our vision is to eradicate poverty in all its forms in the UK. We will do this by firstly providing care and support to those undergoing hardship irrespective of their background and through this work and ongoing efforts we aim to bring forward long-term solutions to the causes of poverty in our society.
